Zainab Koroma CRNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C
Founder & CEO, Wellness Mind Healthcare Services LLC
Zainab Koroma is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a lifelong passion for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Born in Sierra Leone, West Africa, Zainab immigrated to the United States in 1996 to join her mother and sister in Lowell, Massachusetts. Four years later, she relocated to Laurel, Maryland, with her high school sweetheart—now husband—where her remarkable journey in nursing began.
Zainab’s career started as a Nursing Assistant in a local nursing home, where her dedication to caring for elderly patients inspired her to advance her education in nursing. She completed her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program in 2001 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Mountain States University in 2009.
Over the next several years, Zainab served as both a staff and charge nurse in hospitals, nursing homes, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Maryland. Her outstanding leadership and commitment to excellence earned her the Employee of the Year Award twice during her tenure at the VA Medical Center.
The loss of her parents in Sierra Leone to complications from diabetes and hypertension deepened Zainab’s resolve to make a meaningful impact in healthcare. In 2019, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, becoming a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). Recognizing the growing need for mental health professionals, she further obtained her Post-Graduate Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP-BC) in 2020.
Today, Zainab serves as the CEO of Wellness Mind Healthcare Services, LLC in Baltimore, Maryland, and Co-Owner of Optimal Healthcare Services, LLC in York, Pennsylvania. Guided by empathy, cultural awareness, and a strong sense of purpose, she is dedicated to improving access to high-quality physical and mental healthcare—empowering individuals and communities to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
